Garlic Mustard / Jack-by-the-Hedge (Alliaria petiolata) (27/04/2020) Footpath up to field leading to Horton Wood, Small Dole, Henfield, W Sussex. Nothing else quite like it given these flowers combined with the almost nettle-like leaves (later images).

Garlic Mustard / Jack-by-the-Hedge (Alliaria petiolata) (25/04/2022) Botolphs Lane on verge not far from church, Steyning, W Sussex. This one made me stop because the leaves are unusually dark for Garlic Mustard - but given the shape of them, there's nothing else it could be! Perhaps they darken as they age.

Garlic Mustard / Jack-by-the-Hedge (Alliaria petiolata) (08/05/2022) Footpath down the side of Southbank Equestrian, New Hall Lane, Small Dole, Henfield, W Sussex. This one has really massive leaves, perhaps because it is in the shade a lot of the day. It's a young plant so leaves very green - and very edible!

Garlic Mustard / Jack-by-the-Hedge (Alliaria petiolata) (13/06/2020) Southbank Equestrian, Small Dole, Henfield, W Sussex (all over the place in shady areas). Now pretty much gone to fruit - the long things which in Brassica terminology are called "siliques".
Garlic Mustard / Jack-by-the-Hedge (Alliaria petiolata) (17/07/2021) Horton Wood, Small Dole, Henfield, W Sussex. The seed pods emerge at a kinked upwards angle from the very short stalks. You can just about see some bulges in the one on the right - the developing "peas".
